Resident Assistants

  

The Resident Assistant is a paraprofessional, undergraduate or graduate student staff member of the Housing & Residence Life Program. The resident assistants are directly supervised by the Director of Residence and Student Life. The Resident Assistant plays a vital role in facilitating an atmosphere of community, facilities, and crisis management within the residence halls.

 

Through a rewarding instructional, pre-service, and on going in-service training program, resident assistants acquire the knowledge to foster a healthy and positive living learning community. These experiences are necessary in fostering an environment, which is conducive to the academic, social, and personal needs and fulfillment of each of his/her residents.

 

This leadership position provides the Resident Assistant with the unique opportunity to further develop personal self-awareness and interpersonal communication skills that are vital for success in all facets of life.


Residence Hall Activities

Goldey-Beacom College residence halls have many diverse activities for students. Resident Assistants provide both educational and social programming for resident students. The Resident Student Association conducts dances, final exam "study breaks", and a variety of other activities. The Goldey-Beacom campus has a soccer field, softball field, tennis court, handball/ racquetball courts, basketball/volleyball court, and gazebo.
